If I'm honest, I think I've kind of lost my passion for blogging, I still love to read other peoples blogs but I don't have the motivation to do my own. I've also taken a huge interest in more fashion orientated blogs, and of course, lookbook.nu! Some of the looks on there are just amazing.

Hopefully I might regain inspiration to start blogging soon, for the sake of my subscribers! Thankyou to all my new followers, it still amazes me when I think that people actually enjoy reading my rambles :)

Heather xHeatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09607392731034088829noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6147316244601498429.post-65130003964845916622009-07-06T13:48:00.000-07:002009-07-06T13:50:47.062-07:00People in/who know London!Just a quick little post, I'm going to London this weekend and I wanted to know if anyone had an recommendations of shops? I'm going to the usual suspects i.e. Topshop in Oxford Street (highlight!) but I'm also going to Westfield. I think I'm actually most excited for this! Where should I go?
Also, is there CCO in Westfield or in London? Discount Mac could be calling my name :)

xoxxoHeatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09607392731034088829noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6147316244601498429.post-84083215600172478942009-07-06T06:20:00.001-07:002009-07-06T06:30:19.249-07:00What blonde?

I'm going to dye my hair again another shade of blonde and I'm not quite sure what tone. It is currently a light yellowy blonde (thanks peroxide!) and I can't decide whether to go even lighter or go darker.
I love this shade that Nicole Richie has, it is so pretty. I think I prefer much natural-er (is that a word haha?!) blondes than heavily bleached, which is what my hair is looking like currently :(

For example, I HATE the colour of Heidi Pratt's hair. I'm sure some people love it but I don't like how uniform the colour for all her hair. I prefer it to be cut up abit with highlights and lowlights of different shades.

As I'm diy dyeing my hair, does anyone have any good recommendations on hair dyes? I normally use Nice & Easy which I find have a good range of colours and it doesn't dry my hair out, but I'm curious to see what other people use!Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09607392731034088829noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6147316244601498429.post-67191521923215713492009-07-05T04:01:00.000-07:002009-07-05T04:17:45.787-07:00Honest Scrap TagI was tagged by Victoria @ lilyloveslola.blogspot.com to do this so here it goes!

You have to tell your readers ten things about you they may not know, but that are true. Then you have to tag 10 people with the award. Finally, let all the people you've given the award to know they've gotten it (comment on their blogs or something). Don't forget to link back to the person who awarded you.

1. I'm a bit of a neat freak. At the time I loved it and stayed black for around 1 1/2 years. Three months ago I wanted to go red so off I went, bleached my hair at home then applied a red dye. I loved the red for about the first two weeks but then it because dull and boring. So I wanted to be blonde.
I've bleached my hair about three times, applied 3 blonde dyes and it's still not the colour I want it but for the sake of my hair, I'm willing to leave it for a few months till it can get some condition and softness back.
At the moment, the colour is acceptable but very dry, brittle and lacking any sort of shine. When I straighten it, it breaks off at the ends. I know I shouldn't straighten it but I have naturally thick, coarse frizzy hair and not applying heat simply isn't an option.

I now plan to apply a mask every other wash. I'm also using CHI Keratin Mist, a leave in strengthing treatment which I hope will help.

Above is a L'Oreal Elvive Re-Nutrition hair mask, with royal jelly. This smells amazing! It also leaves my hair super soft (or softer than usual!) after using it. This was around £3 in Asda. I also bought Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance Leave-In conditioner, which you apply when hair is damp. I also spray it on my hair when it's dry, mainly because the smell is so damn good! I can't even begin to tell you how good this smells. Seriously, they should make a perfume out of it ha ha ha!

Hopefully, in a few months, my hair will be in better condition, fingers crossed x
Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09607392731034088829noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6147316244601498429.post-9030404959550754392009-06-26T07:58:00.001-07:002009-06-26T08:14:40.172-07:00Shopping spree and OOTD This is the outfit I choose for my recent shopping trip, it was a really warm day in England so I chose this denim skirt from Bershka, tee from Topshop, blazer from Primark (as seen in another post) and gladiator sandals also from Primark. The belt is vintage and bag, Louis Vuitton!
Everywhere is having a sale atm so I picked up a few bargains.

I needed some new jewellery and I picked up this necklace for £5 reduced from £10 at Miss Selfridge. I love the coral jewels in the center! You can't really see in the picture but it has a gold and brown leather chain. It's my new love.

This top wasn't in the sale, £28 from Topshop but I needed something that would go with the skirt further down in the post. It's a crop top, which I wouldn't wear on its own as I definitely don't have the abs or flat stomach to pull it off. It's a dusty pink colour with silver metallic detailing on the back neckline. I'm planning to wear it tucked into the skirt.

The back

Zara is one of my favourite shops and it has a HUGE sale on. Literally everything is on sale. I saw some gorgeous boyfriend blazers reduced from £50 down to £29 (!!!!) but they didn't have any in my size :( That is the only problem with sales, they normally never have your size! Anyway, I saw this light denim high waisted skirt for £14, reduced from £30.

xoxo

P.S. I'm over the 30 mark now and I'm so happy that you've wanted to follow my blog :) Anyway...

I read about Latest in Beauty (www.latestinbeauty.com) from someones blog but I can't remember who! If it was you, leave me a comment below and I'll credit you for it because it's a brillant thing! note: it was Daisy from Cupcakes and Cherries whose blog I read! Latest in Beauty is a website which you can subscribe to for free and every month they send you samples of beauty products. You get one from Skincare, one from Make up & Fragrances and one from Hair and Body. You choose your products, send a text message then you'll get a code that enables you to send away for these free samples. The text costs £1 though, but this is to cover postage and packaging.

I decided to try out the Estee Lauder Idealist Pore Minimizing Skin Refinisher. What a mouthful hah. It claims to "refine the look of uneven skin tenture, flakiness and roughness. It leaves skin unbelievably soft and smooth, virtually poreless". I don't partically have large pores, but sometimes around the nose area, they can be quite visible. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm hoping it'll do some good. You get 7 samples of it, which is a weeks worth of supply.
However, it claims "here is a 69% reduction in the appearance of pores after 4 weeks of continued use" This would mean you'd have to go out and buy some more to see any clear results.

Next I got a sample of John Frieda Frizz Ease Weather Works Style Sealant Creme. Another mouthful! This is a serum that you apply to wet hair which protects your hair from the elements i.e. rain, humidity etc, all our worst nightmares! I have naturally frizzy hair so I'm going to give this a try and it might stop my hair from turning into a Diana Ross style 'do!

Finally, from the make up section, I got 3 samples of the Mary Kay Mineral eyeshadow. I got it in the colours Navy Blue, Lemongrass and Sienna. These pictures don't do the colours any justice! Omg I'm in love! They are so pigmented, especially navy blue and the lemongrass turns into a gorgeous gold yellow. There isn't much colour payoff for Sienna but I'm not too keen on this colour anyway.
I'm thinking of smudging the Navy Blue into my lash line to give a coloured smokey lived in look.

Definitely worth a look on the website, as they have other samples to choose from too.

Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09607392731034088829noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6147316244601498429.post-31791807677553739272009-06-13T15:41:00.000-07:002009-06-13T15:50:38.157-07:00Yay or Nay?Yay:

Going camping next weekend with a large group of friends, weather permitting of course!

Burt Bees Beeswax Lip Balm - I went a day without applying lipbalm (I usually use Vaseline) and my lips turned into dry flaky heaven. I've tried lots but just can't seem to find one I like. I tend to go for drugstore makes, generally because they are cheaper than that such as MAC. But this always has its drawbacks; foundation wearing off quickly, making my skin look terrible etc.

What I want from a foundation:

For it to be long lasting, it's such a faff when you have to touch up foundation after only a few hours!

Not make my skin look greasy or shiny. It is Have A Tempura Tantrum by OPI. This is my first OPI nail varnish, which I won in a contest held by Hele. I love the colour, a gorgeous milky beige nude pink. As much as I love the colours and naming of OPI polishes, I think there are better alternatives out there, namely the Barry M range.
Still, I love the colour and I am happy with my prize :)

Sorry for the awful quality of my painted nails, I can never paint them without getting some varnish on my skin!Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09607392731034088829noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6147316244601498429.post-55058477245359332972009-06-07T10:58:00.000-07:002009-06-07T11:16:17.964-07:00Updated skincare routineA while back I did a post on my skincare routine that I followed. Because of problems with my skin, I decided to go back to basics and only use a cleanser and moisturiser. I had found a bottle of Clean & Clear Exfoliating Daily Wash and decided to try that out with my usual moisturiser, a Clean & Clear one (on the left, above). This routine lasted for around two weeks and didn't make any noticable changes to my skin. It was still dry in places, red and I still had blackheads.

While in Asda, Clean & Clear was on a 2 for £5 offer so I picked up my usual moisturiser and a Deep Cleansing Cream Wash, oil free (on the right above). I tend to go for Clean & Clear because it caters for teen skin and is cheap as chips. I thought I may aswell give this face wash ago.
My skin has never looked better. Totally clear of spots, which is quite unusual for me as I always seem to have at least one spot. It is no longer dry or red and my skin is glowing more than usual.

My routine is as follows:
Morning: No face wash, just splash of water followed by moisturiser.
Night: Apply a pea sized amount of the cream wash to my dry face and massage in until all the white has disappeared. I then wet my hands and massage my face again, which brings the cleanser up into a foam. Rinse off and then I follow with moisturiser.

I now believe that less is more for my skin. All the products that I was using before just simply created more problems. I either have sensitive skin or because I'm young, I don't respond well to some harsh chemicals (salicylic acid anyone?) that are in face washes and blackhead cleansers. When I'm older, I'll probably start using more products that cater for my skin but for the time being, it's good the way it is.Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09607392731034088829noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6147316244601498429.post-16151150590647177162009-06-04T12:35:00.000-07:002009-06-04T12:59:01.298-07:00A nice surprise from Benefit So after reading Marcia's blog today (Let there be shopping!!) I had to hurry out and buy Glamour magazine. Why? Well because it had a freebie of a Benefit badgal Lash mascara! I panicked thinking it would sell out but of course it hadn't in my local newsagents. I remember, maybe last year, when Glamour gave away a Benefit Her Glossiness lip gloss and I couldn't find the magazine ANYWHERE. Luckily I managed to get my hands on one and the lip gloss in a very vivid pink.

Seems as though Glamour is only £2, it's a great freebie as the mascara is worth £9.50 itself. Yes it's a smaller version but just as good. I personally love this mascara, it does exactly what it says on the tin. Volumised lashes and it lasts.

Onto other things:

I'm jumping on the bandwagon late here but I only got round to purchasing the Prestige Skin Loving Minerals bronzer in Glam Tan. This is reduced to only £6 in Boots from around its usual £8/£9 price. I haven't tried it yet but I've got high hopes from the swatch I made. I thought maybe it could be used as an all over bronzer but it's way too shimmery so I think I'll just stick to the cheeks or to highlight.

I also got this powder brush from a stall in the Metro Centre (which is a big shopping centre near to where I live). It was £3 and for the price, it's amazing quality. It hasn't shed (yet) and has the softest bristles. I haven't had a powder brush like this (!), how I survived I dont know haha, and I've now realised its functionality. I've previously been using a kabuki for just about everything powder related. Yes, that means bronzers, mineralized skin finish natural, blush etc.

I have a very small brush collection, maybe around 10 brushes made up of Ruby & Millie and other random makes. I can't justify (or afford) spending £20+ on MAC brushes so I'm looking around for cheaper but just as good alternatives.

This make, w7 I think, seems very good so I will be going back for more.
Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09607392731034088829noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6147316244601498429.post-33676573769828534982009-06-02T08:58:00.001-07:002009-06-02T09:11:20.202-07:00Attempt in toning up my skin

With my holiday fast approaching (60 days eeek!) I am trying to make an effort in losing weight and toning up for a good bikini body. I really don't want to look like a beached whale in my group of friends so from this week, healthy eating is a must. I also have problems with the backs of my thighs and tops of my arms. The phrase thunder thighs springs to mind (ha!) so I am determined to tone up my legs. I bought this today hoping that it might do some work.

It's a Thai Spa Body Massager or in other words, a body brush. It was £3.29 in my local Superdrug. It claims to "gently stimulate circulation and tone your skin". The top picture shows a close up of the body brush with a combination of bristle hairs and these small soft plastic knobly bits. It's quite stiff so I'm thinking that this is really going to work deep into my skin.

I am planning to use this every night on my skin after a shower (or maybe before, I'm not sure what would be best) in combination with the Boots Expert Total Body Anti-Cellulite cream. I've not yet purchased this but I've heard good things so fingers crossed.

Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09607392731034088829noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6147316244601498429.post-84180534337774790632009-05-27T10:33:00.000-07:002009-05-27T10:45:35.034-07:00Getting to know meWhat made you choose your blog/twitter/YouTube username?
Blog: Well these are my make up ramblings :)
My twitter username is my name but my Youtube name is feeltheromanced. I tend to do this about every 1 or 2 months, mainly because they have a bigger primark, topshop, all saints etc and more selection. I was going to purchase some things from MAC, mainly Well Dressed blusher but didn't end up unfortunately.

I only made one make up purchase, a Revlon Matte lipstick in Pink Pout. I am very into bright lips at the moment, mainly pinks since the arrival of blonde hair :) I've saw these Revlon Matt lipsticks on other blogs and was curious to what they were like in person. I opted for Pink Pout over Nude Attitude as I thought this would be more wearable.

I would describe this lipstick as a dusty pink. I thought it would be similar to Barry M's 100 (which I love, a perfect barbie pink, I'd recommend it highly) but the Revlon is much more of a muted pink. However, it still is very vibrant and long lasting. I actually couldn't believe how long this lasted, I put it on after lunch and is still on (albeit not as perfect) whilst I'm writing this at 9.20pm. The only downside I have to say is it is very drying. Has anyone else experienced this? My lips are just dying for a coat of Vaseline!
I have been wanting a grey blazer for a while now, my black blazer is never off my back, I love the combination of leather leggings and blazers. I found one in Primark for a mere £17.

It has some terrible naff black buttons on, which I am planning on taking off and sewing on some buttons that I found in Fenwicks haberdashery section.

p.s I'm having real problems with blogger! When I upload pictures, they go straight to the top of my blog post and I have to drag them down to the bottom where I want them. It also leaves huge gaps between my writing, which I have to go back and alter. This is sooo fustrating, I end up nearly throwing my laptop out of a window in anger haha, am I doing something wrong?

Any help would greatly be appreciated!! thankyou x
Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09607392731034088829noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6147316244601498429.post-39596007477063406412009-05-21T05:41:00.000-07:002009-06-04T14:22:50.750-07:00Yay or NayYAY:
St Moritz Fake Tan Mousse- see previous post!
Chips- not good for me but I'm loving them at the moment with lots of salt and vinegar mmm
Gossip Girl books- even better than the programme! Just a quick update on fake tan!

I love fake tan, I'm naturally pale so fake tan for me is a must. It definitely makes me look healthier and I feel better in myself when I'm tanned. I've tried most self tanners out there, bar St Tropez and Fake Bake (something which I want to invest in in the future) and I've had my experiences with all. Recently, I've been using more of the gradual tan lotions, such as Nivea Gradual Tan and Garnier SummerBody. They have left a nice, golden colour, however I didn't like how long it took to build that colour up!

I came across "St.Moritz" Instant Self Tanning Mousse (I know, a TERRIBLE name, such a rip off from St.Tropez haha) in a local beauty shop in town. This shop sells discounted make-up and beauty products, things that you don't see on your Boots or Superdrug selves, mainly because they have been discounted. Most places probably have one of these shops.

I was attracted to this fake tan, mainly by the shape of the bottle. Very St.Tropez-esque. The lady in the shop said that it was a "best seller" and lots of people had bought it so far. I thought I may aswell give it ago, it was only £3.49 and if it was horrible then it's not like I have wasted a lot of money on it.
I LOVE THIS. It is, by far, the best fake tan I've tried. It leaves a gorgeous deep tan colour, something that can only be achieved by two weeks in the Med! It is a mousse that I apply all over, evenly rubbing in. It has a colour guide too, so you can see where you are putting it. At first, you look very dark (depending on how much mousse you apply) then it develops in 4-6 hours. Now I put this on before I go to bed and the next morning, I'm so tanned, it can look a bit stupid but hop in the shower and then you are left tanned and beautiful. I'd highly recommend this fake tan, if you can find it.

TIP: you must, and I say must, wash your hands after applying about every 5 minutes. The colour guide is so dark, your hands will turn black!

Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09607392731034088829noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6147316244601498429.post-22277778281473593682009-05-15T09:59:00.000-07:002009-05-21T05:41:31.631-07:00Rainy DayToday I decided to face the rain and go into town to pick up a few pieces.

I really needed a black boob tube, long enough so that it could be worn on its own but also under other clothes that I have. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find a long black one, I searched high and low. I knew Topshop sold them but I really didn't want to have to fork out £14 for something that I knew I could get cheaper elsewhere.

Luckily I held out and found one in H&M for only £7.99. They also had these in white, red and yellow.

I had some money to spare so I went into Superdrug to look at the make up. I got two products, a Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Nude Delight 700. This was about £5.19 and I loved the swatch on my hand when I was in the shop. However when I got home and put it on my lips, I'm not sure of it. It looks a bit too orangey and too "old" for me. It was a toss up between this, the Barry M 101 and the new Revlon Matt lipstick in Nude Attitude. Maybe I should have gone for one of the others.

I also got a NYC Cheek Glow blush in West Side Wine. This is a gorgeous pinky mauve colour that I think looks lovely on. It was only around £3 so the longevity of this product might not be long. But for the price you can't complain! I took a picture of this but my laptop is playing up and just doesn't want to upload the picture of the blush in the pan.

Swatches of the blush (top) and lipstick (bottom). Sorry for the such bad quality light and pictures, I use my Samsung tocco phone and it hasn't got the best of camera quality!Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09607392731034088829noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6147316244601498429.post-38386367586624921012009-05-14T08:18:00.001-07:002009-06-04T14:25:13.499-07:00SkincareUntil probably about the last year or two, I never really followed a skin routine. Make up came off with a face wipe, splash of water on the face and if I'm lucky, a slap of body moisturiser on the face.

Now, I follow a routine of cleansing and moisturising twice a day. This is what I use:

On the left is Neutrogena Visibly Clear gentle exfoliating wash. I use this on a morning followed by Clean & Clear Dual Action moisturiser (on the right). At night I follow the same steps but use Clean & Clear Blackhead Clearing cleanser (middle) before my moisturiser. I think of this cleanser as my toner, even though I know it isn't one, probably due to the fact you apply with a cotton ball.

I'm always amazed at how much dirt this clears off my face, even when I've thought my face has been totally clean due to the baby wipes and Neutrogena face wash that I've just used. On the other hand, I haven't noticed any change in the amount of blackheads I have. Maybe this product is more of a prevention method rather than the cure, so to speak.

However, I'm starting to get bored with this routine and I'm wondering whether this is actually improving my skin or just making it worse. I still get spots and blackheads, my skin is still dry in places so I've decided to switch it up, although not that much.

I found this in my cupboard yesterday so I've decided to give it a try again. It's the Clean & Clear Exfoliating Daily Wash (I am just a walking advert for clean&clear ha ha ha). I suspect this could be just the Neutrogena face wash but in another packaging or very similar. They do have the same name!
I'm going to carry on using this instead of the Neutrogena and skipping out the blackhead clearing cleanser step for about 1 or 2 weeks then report back.
Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09607392731034088829noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6147316244601498429.post-57307380069844422262009-05-14T08:10:00.000-07:002009-06-04T14:25:53.525-07:00OOTDMy outfit of the day

Even though it's fairly sunny here today where I live, I'm always cold so I choose this "ensemble". I thought I was more suited to just following other people's blogs and not being a blogger but I've been enticed back.

I should be doing law/maths exam revision as i have 5 as exams next week (!) but heres my ins/outs of this week.

IN
blonde hair - recently dyed it from black, to red, to gingery red and now to blonde (all in the space of about 5 weeks) and i'm loving it :)

weather - its been really nice and sunny here in the UK :) however im still cooped up at home in leggings, a shirt and thick socks haha

mac fluidline in blacktrack - wore eyeliner again yesterday for the first time in about 2 months and im loving it

barry m bronzer - got this for christmas, was loving it way before everyone found out about it!

pastel blue nails

study leave aka free time to spend with my friends having a nice drink in the sun

OUT
diets - no explanation needed for this!

eyeko tinted cream - i just cant seem to get the hang of this. when applied it rubs off my foundation underneath and just makes me look dirty and glittery, not bronzed and beautiful that i hoped

having no money - i have precisely £7 in my purse atm. and im trying to decide what i should buy with it: 101 lipstick, prestige glam tan or maybelline mineral blush?

exams

my sally's having no silk infusion :( dont think im ever going to end up getting this!Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09607392731034088829noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6147316244601498429.post-23490367245968005202009-03-02T13:16:00.000-08:002009-03-02T13:25:41.753-08:00Ins and OutsIns:

90210 - I'm currently watching it whilst writing this post and I'm in love! Its certainly a good way to get over that horrible monday night hump of the week

Vaseline Rosy Lips - Just purchased and I adore it. Perfect light pink and satisfies my vaseline obsession for my lips

Oasis - Random, but i forgot how much i love them!

Non makeup days - Sometimes I just can't be bothered on a morning and when time permits, I let my skin breathe for the day

Coconut body lotion - Bought a tub from Savers (a UK drugstore) for 99p!! Can't wait for the summer, hopefully mother nature will give us Brits some decent weather instead of that lousy excuse we had for a summer last year

Big, red spots - I have a HUGE, and when I say huge, i mean it, nasty red stop. I admit, I don't own that much make up nor many MAC products. This is mainly due to the fact I have to fund my vices and my lowly paid once-a-fortnight job doesn't do my bank balance any justice :)

xoxo HeatherHeatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09607392731034088829noreply@blogger.com0
